Epstein Accuser Speaks Out

The recently released Netflix documentary, Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, is shedding new light on the wealthy financier’s sexual misconduct on Little St. James Island, his private island in the Caribbean. The documentary series features one of Epstein’s accusers, Sarah Ransome, who says Epstein raped her several times on the island. She also implicates two women–Ghislaine Maxwell and Sarah Kellen–who she says were co-conspirators in securing underage girls for Epstein.

The doc also features Steve Scully, who maintained Epstein’s telecommunications and data equipment on the island. Scully, who says he visited Little St. James Island at least 100 times, tells CBS News’ Anthony Mason that he often saw young girls and prominent guests on the 75-acre spread, including Britain’s Prince Andrew, whom he witnessed “grinding” against a young girl clad only in a bikini bottom. Here’s more from Ransome, Scully and Mason on CBS This Morning.

Vegas Mayor Lashes Out

While rules for the COVID-19 lockdown in New York are getting stricter, Americans in other parts of the country are fed up with social distancing and stay-at-home orders. In Michigan’s capital city of Lansing, thousands swarmed the streets and the state capitol, demanding an end to the lockdown, which many deem unnecessary. And way out West in Las Vegas, Mayor Carolyn Goodman lashed out at the state’s stay-at-home orders. “This shutdown has become one of total insanity. It makes no sense.” Goodman says. She pointed out that Nevada’s death toll has been less than half of one percent of the state’s population. Here’s more from CBS This Morning.

Rand Paul: Voice of Reason

Rand Paul has emerged as one of the few voices of reason in saying President Donald Trump should be “lauded” for meeting with adversaries. Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and supported President Trump’s decision to meet with Vladimir Putin. He joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss why he believes it’s a “good idea” for the U.S. to have diplomatic relations with Russia.

VA Scandal Growing

As the Veterans Administration scandal evolves, new evidence reveals that delays in medical care for vets may be connected to substantially more deaths than originally thought. CBS News White House correspondent Major Garrett reports the recent discovery of fake hospital waiting lists, fraud and $36.4 million in settlements for 167 complaints of delayed medical care since 2001 has the White House reeling. Meanwhile, Captain Destructo, aka President Obama, continues to sit silently on the sidelines. More from CBS This Morning.

Poll Says Legal Weed Inevitable

A CBS poll conducted by political consultant and noted pollster Frank Luntz reveals there is a major shift in the sentiment toward legalizing marijuana. The poll showed that 54 percent said pot should be legal, up from 41 percent in 2010. And an eye-popping 75 percent feel that smoking pot will eventually become law soon. Luntz leads an animated focus group of 25 as they debate the issue on CBS This Morning.

All is Ducky at A&E

The ducks will be quacking again and the A&E Network has egg on its face … as expected. After a week-long, politically correct drama where A&E climbed on its high horse and suspended “Duck Dynasty” megastar Phil Robertson for what it claimed were insensitive remarks toward gays, the network made an about-face and reinstated the hugely popular reality show’s patriarch over the weekend.

As reported on Fox News’ “The Five,” A&E released a statement chock-full of more PC rhetoric, pointing out that it had consulted with numerous advocacy groups before making its decision. “The Five’s” Andrea Tantaros took exception to the press release, saying, “It’s a bunch of baloney. If you take a look at this, it’s about profit, profit, profit. But even more than that, it’s not about money. The fact that A&E tried to silence them, even before the scandal, shows that they have different political beliefs. It’s bigger than money. They don’t want them praying, they don’t want them talking about Jesus. They don’t get that talking about Jesus is actually profitable and what made them profitable.”

(EDITOR’S NOTE: Fox has taken down this video, presumably because they have been involved in a legal dispute with Andrea Tantaros. In its absence, we present the CBS This Morning report on Phil Robertson’s reinstatement.)
