MINNIE TONKA

Known as the One Woman Riot, Minnie Tonka is noted for the campy humor and theatrical excess she incorporates as part of her stage act. She’s originally from Minnesota, but now based in New York, where she has won multiple Golden Pastie Awards at the New York Burlesque Festival. She performs as one-half of the Schelp Sisters and also is a co-founder of the Kosher ChiXXX Jewish Burlesque Revue.

Here, she puts a new spin to burlesque using 45 rpm records and spindles, while dancing to the pop hit “You Spin Me.”
