Non-Essentials Scare Dems
With Congress awash in gridlock, and no end in sight, there is one aspect of the government shutdown that has Democrats and President Obama quaking in their collective boots. In this edition of “Afterburner,” Bill Whittle explains that 17 percent of the federal workforce are non-essential workers, and if the government shuts them down, President Obama and the Democratic Party fear no one will really notice. “If the American people become fully aware of the fact that they can get along just fine without the non-essential 17 percent of the federal government, then they may start asking why they can’t have 17 percent of their taxes returned to them,” Whittle says.
