Trump Will Fight Trafficking
For those of you wondering, President Donald Trump on Thursday vowed to bring the full force of the federal law down upon those practicing human trafficking, both domestically and internationally. At a White House meeting attended by advisors and by organizations trying to curb trafficking, Trump said he will bring the “full force and weight” of the U.S. government to combat an “epidemic” of human trafficking.
More than 1,500 individuals — including pimps, traffickers, prostitutes and customers — have been arrested in a series of sweeps throughout Trump’s first month in office. His team has already arrested as many perpetrators as the Obama administration did annually.
We applaud Trump’s actions. What a welcome change after seeing so many children tormented and abused over the past eight years. Let’s hope the sweeps soon include more of the dirty birds occupying positions in the Senate, the House and within the federal bureaucracy.
