Can Trump Halt Immigration?
President Donald Trump has finally unveiled his plan to halt illegal immigration from countries to the south. Beginning June 10, Mexico will be hit with a 5 percent tariff on all manufactured goods, foodstuffs and trade items crossing the border. These tariffs will continue and gradually grow more severe each and every month the immigration problem isn’t addressed by Mexico. The 5 percent tariff imposed in June will become 10 percent come July 1, 15 percent by August 1, and so on, rising to 25 percent by October 1. If Mexico continues to act like this is not their problem, then we step up the campaign to make it their problem. More from Bill Still.

In other words, the longstanding problem reached a breaking point — one so severe we needed to either get mexico’s cooperation or else force them to pay the price.
