Fatbergs in Our Sewers
Flushing junk down your toilet doesn’t do your plumbing any favors, but it pales in comparison to what it does to the sewer system. While paying attention to what you shove down the pipes will help you avoid major repairs in the long run, the bigger reason to avoid tossing fats, oils and grease–FOGS, or fatbergs–into your drains is because they develop into huge blocks of goo over time and present a danger to the infrastructure.
