8Chan Owner Speaks Out
Jim Watkins, owner of 8Chan, speaks out about the message board losing its service and being cast adrift by Cloudflare. Watkins says 8Chan serves approximately one million users. It has been kept offline since late Sunday, supposedly for publishing one of the manifestos by the El Paso mass murderer. Watkins says the manifesto was not uploaded onto 8Chan by the murderer but rather by a member of the message board who found it and raised it for discussion. At the same time, says Watkins, 8Chan notified law enforcement officials about the manifesto so they could use it for study or for evidentiary purposes, 8Chan remained off line as of Tuesday.
