History Will Deal with Comey
Strike Two! For the second time in the last few weeks, former FBI Director James Comey was thoroughly excoriated by the Office of the Inspector General for improprieties during his term. In a scathing and comprehensive report, IG Michael Horowitz scolded Comey for violating FBI and DOJ policy, sharing information about an ongoing investigation and sending classified material to an unauthorized person. Comey was also shamed for his handling of the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal. “He’s a two-time offender,” former South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy told Fox News. “When our fellow citizens think we have a two-tracked justice system, either for the famous or the non-famous, or the rich and the poor, we’re in trouble as a republic. … They will judge Jim Comey based on the fact that he got dinged on both of the major investigations he was handling in 2016. That will be the accountability. That’s what history will remember about Jim Comey.”
