The Left’s War on Science
It’s not surprising that the majority of the mainstream media believe there’s a conservative war on science. Issues such as creationism, gender difference and the biggie–climate change–drive their steady stream of anti-right rhetoric. The truth is, says John Tierney, contributing editor at the Manhattan Institute’s City Journal, the real war on science is the one on the left. And he places the blame squarely on academia. “Once an academic department gets a majority of people who are on the left, they start hiring people like themselves, and pretty soon the whole department is that way,” he says. “They start to think that their opinions and that their interests are not only the norm, but the truth.” Tierney elaborates on this episode of John Stossel TV.
