Inmates at a jail in Brazil now can cut their sentences if they agree to generate electricity for the community. How’s it done? The prisoners hop onto bicycles for daily workout sessions. Their pedaling creates the juice used to power street lights.
Many YouTube commentators advocated rolling out the innovative program around the world, but one wag pointed out a potential drawback: “It’s a great idea. We need this here in the United Kingdom.
