Ten Thousand Pictures of You
After the handsome and dashing film star Ben Dixon breaks her heart, photographer Sarah Day plots revenge. This short uses pixilation (stop-motion animation involving live actors) to advance its storyline, assembling about 26,000 photos in the process. Says writer-director David King, “As much as possible, it was made ‘in camera’ without digital superimposure, using thousands of printed materials.” King created the short under the auspices of Screen South and the United Kingdom Film Council’s New Cinema Fund.
