Silence Is Not Golden

Cuban blogger Yoani Sánchez tells why she started her blog Generación Y, why it is hard to silence a blogger and why she continues to blog despite social and physical threats from the Cuban government. This week, the Cuban government arrested Sánchez and a half-dozen other bloggers attempting to report on the trial of a Spanish diplomat accused of killing a dissident in a car crash this summer. After human rights group condemned the detentions, and they began to receive widespread news coverage abroad, the government relented and released the bloggers.
