Gettysburg Address Celebration
Yesterday, thousands of Americans gathered in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of President Lincoln’s historic Gettysburg Address. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett told the crowd, “His words were simple. His faith was deep. His genius was so profound it could be dispensed in those 272 words and yet shape centuries of thought and debate about what it means to be in the United States of America. Historian James Getty portrayed Lincoln in a re-enactment of the brief speech.
