The following video is another example of how local and state governments are not only derailing the American Dream but crushing it. Attempting to spruce up a rundown Chicago neighborhood, entrepreneur Zina Murray renovated a vacant building and opened an innovative business, only to run into a mountain of rules and regulations at City Hall. “What our experience has been with the City of Chicago is that innovation and things that are new are to be treated with extreme caution and as always potentially harmful,” Murray says. “And I’m here to say that, you know, sometimes those new things can be really good.” Check out Murray’s full story in this edition of the Institute for Justice.
