The Theory of Relativity is one of the foundations of modern physics, along with Quantum Theory. So it came as a monumental shock to scientists when the Large Hadron Collider near Geneva, Switzerland, conducted an atom-smashing experiment that concluded that Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity might be wrong. “All hell broke loose in the physics community,” says Michio Kaku, professor of theoretical physics at City College of New York.
