Hawaii: Nothing But a Test
‘Emergency Alert: BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL,’ the terrifying message read. The unbelievably negligent false alarm was sent at about 8am local time by an errant Hawaii Emergency Management employee who ‘pushed the wrong buttons’ during an internal drill timed to coincide with a shift handover. The all-clear phone alert was not sent until 38 minutes later. Can you believe this? Lionel Nation reports.
ARVE error: need id and provider
In a very bizarre and frankly quite suspicious coincidence, MSNBC reporter Jacob Soboroff just happened to be visiting Hawaii and just happened to tour the Hawaiian Emergency Management Agency a few hours before the false alarm went off. Anyone who believes this happened purely by chance probably has a bridge they can buy somewhere in Manhattan.
ARVE error: need id and provider
Last but certainly not least, HighImpactFlix shows us the MSNBC report and asks some big questions about how haphazardly this was handled in Hawaii. Strange, indeed.
