Nearly 25,000 Indictments
The number of sealed indictments lodged by the Justice Department has now reached 24,544. To put that number into perspective, there were 1,077 sealed indictments for all of 2009.
Bear in mind, this does not mean nearly 25,000 individuals have been indicted. There could be 3 or 4, or even 8 to 10, indictments drawn against the same individual.
