1 Down: Rosenstein Resigns?
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has verbally resigned to White House chief of staff John Kelly in an attempt to prevent being fired, according to Axios reporting timestamped 10:36 am. Rosenstein’s resignation came just days after the New York Times reported that he discussed wearing a wire to record in-person conversations with President Trump to attempt to trap him saying things that could then be used to force his resignation. (UPDATE: Sources are now saying Rosenstein has not yet resigned, but instead that he will meet President Donald Trump on Thursday. Jack Posobiec reported: “I’m told Rod Rosenstein refused to resign in his meeting with Kelly. WH does not want to fire him outright bc unclear line of succession.
