Why We Acquire Tastes
There’s a reason why our bodies develop acquired tastes and it goes beyond our taste buds to our psychology, evolution, and as a means of survival. Our tongues hold anywhere from 2,000 to 8,000 taste buds, a wide range based on genetics. But the tongue doesn’t do it alone. We also build taste profiles through receptors in the back of our throat and our nasal cavity. The following video by Cheddar explores further.
