The Beast of Gevaudan
Between 1764 and 1767 a huge wolf-like beast terrorized a small area in southeastern France, killing more than 100 people and setting the countryside on its heels. If you think this was another outlandish myth or legend, it wasn’t. The attacks had hundreds of witnesses and were well-documented. And while the terror stopped in 1767, the beast was never identified. The History Guy delves further into this story of mystery and culture and dissects several theories surrounding the tale.
