The Age of Reptiles in Three Acts

The near-apocalypse at the end of the Paleozoic Era, or The Great Dying, was the most severe extinction event in planet’s history, wiping out 96 percent of marine life and 70 percent of terrestrial vertebrae species. Fortunately, the reptiles were among the survivors of the massacre, emerging as humble creatures but soon growing into some of the largest lifeforms to ever dominate land, sea and sky. Their prehistoric dominance on Earth came to be known as the Age of Reptiles and unfolded during the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods of the Mesozoic Era.
