How Breaking Bad Changed TV
Television writer Vince Gilligan, out of work and quickly running low on funds, says a casual conversation with a colleague changed his life and the small screen forever. His friend jestingly suggested that they pool their resources, buy an RV and put a meth lab in the back. The light bulb went off! “I don’t know where it came from, but I was intensely intrigued by the idea of a guy who would do such a thing … an otherwise good man doing a reprehensible deed in to save his family.” The revelation led to the mega-television drama, “Breaking Bad,” arguably the best TV show ever created. Gilligan and the rest of the writing crew talk about the creation of the film and how it evolved in this episode of Behind the Curtain.
