The Country That Used to Exist
The border between the United States and Canada was so poorly drawn about 200 years ago that it just didn’t make sense. There are still disputes today about what is the USA and what is Canada. But back to the inception of the border, the disputes were so contentious that it led to the independent Republic of Indian Stream in northeastern America. The disagreement was eventually resolved and Indian Stream became part of New Hampshire, but not before many conflicts and treaties.
