The Amazon Forest, by far the largest on Earth, is home to an amazing array of plants and animals. But recent news about the Amazon has shifted away from these amazing discoveries to the issue of deforestation. Nine developing countries surrounding the Amazon have accelerated their dependance on the forest’s resources to help their own causes. So far, an incredible 20 percent of the Amazon has been cleared to make room for things such as livestock and soy farms to feed the animals.
