3D Printed Nefertiti Hack

The bust of Queen Nefertiti is a 3,300 year-old work of art that was found in Egypt by German archaeologists in 1912. It’s in a Museum in Berlin with limited access to the public where no photos are allowed. Two artist secretly 3D scanned the bust and released the files to the public as a free download. This was 3D scanned by Nora Al-Badri and Jan Nikolai Nelles of project #NefertitiHack. We reduced the polygon count by 50%, flattened the bottom and hollowed the model. The top is also opened which makes for a great planter! More from Adafruit Industries.
