Forgotten Fads of the ’70s
The 1970s were a wild and fun time, and occasionally bizarre. And they had a multitude of fads that caught the imagination of the public, then disappeared just as quickly as they began. Take streaking, the act of running stark naked through the streets or across packed sporting events just for the heck of it. Streakers eventually graduated to national events, such as the World Series and the Montreal Olympic Games. Another popular fad was the CB radio, the precursor to cell phones, where motorists would communicate with each other about things such as speed traps and gasoline prices across the nation. If you were born after the 1970s, you might find the following video by MagnaLume Films hilarious.
