Robocalls have become the new menace to society, sometimes disrupting your day up to 30 times. Consumers received a mind-blowing 47 billion robocalls in 2018 and that number is only rising. Trying to opt out by getting on don’t call lists or blocking numbers on your phone is a waste of time because it never works. Shockingly, Fox 35 Orlando consumer reporter Steve Noviello says he looks forward to getting robocalls and emphasizes there’s a lucrative method to his madness. “Consumer credit expert Doc Compton points to a little-known part of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, designed to protect you from auto-dialers and robocallers,” Noviello says. “It also allows consumers to collect cash from callers who break the law.” He shows you how in the following video.
