Gov Aide Popped With Cocaine
LaMar Cook, 45, an aide to Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, has been arrested on charges of cocaine trafficking. Cook was arrested after receiving packages full of cocaine at Massachusetts’ western state office building in Springfield, where he worked as deputy director.
It’s said 8 kilograms were intercepted there and another 13 kilograms at Hotel UMass on the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, totaling about 46 pounds. Gov. Healey, a Democrat, immediately fired Cook.
A spokesman declared, “The conduct that occurred here is unacceptable and represents a major breach of the public trust. This criminal investigation is ongoing, and our administration will work with law enforcement to assist them in their work.” Here’s more from NBC10 in Boston.
