There are a few real creatures on the planet that are so amazingly unique, you’d think they jumped out of some fairly tale or fantasy movie. We’re talking mythical birds, deep-sea monsters and monster moles straight out of a science fiction film.

Some of the creepiest and most bizarre creatures can be found at the bottom of the famed Mariana Trench, located in the western Pacific Ocean at an incredible depth of 36,201 feet. Perhaps the weirdest is the telescope octopus, which cruises the trench at anywhere from 500 to 6,500 feet below the surface. The eyes are the first thing you notice on the octopus.
