VA Failing Injured Vets
Thousands of patriotic veterans who sustained injuries in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars have returned home unsuspectingly to begin another battle–with the Department of Veteran Affairs. Although the Veterans Administration has promised injured vets adequate care and financial compensation in a timely manner, it has been unable to fulfill the promise.
“Quite frankly, most people don’t know VA has received more than 800,000 disability claims from Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans, and Congress and VA planned for zero,” says Paul Sullivan, former VA program analyst.
