Democrats Facing A Crap Storm
Ken Martin has only been chair of the Democratic National Committee for a year and already Democrats are mobilizing to oust him. The infighting has been aggravated by the DNC’s poor cash position. It only has about $18 million on hand, compared to the $67 million held by the rival Republican National Committee.
Besides cash, the Democrats face a bigger problem? Nobody wants to replace Martin. There is growing despondency about the status of the party, and an awareness it could face even rockier shores ahead, especially if it can’t pull off any upsets in the midterm elections.
