Obama’s Global Tax Plans

President Obama is ready to sign a series of pacts that will impose new global taxes on all Americans, under revenue-sharing mandates from the United Nations. That’s the warning from Dick Morris, who outlines the dangers in his new book Here Come the Black Helicopters! Morris says to keep an eye on Obama and his Democratic Senate in the lameduck session following the Nov. 6 election, and adds that the problem will only get worse if Obama is re-elected to a second term.

Turbo-Charge the Economy

Stephen Moore, economist with the Wall Street Journal, advocates adoption of a flat, 19 percent tax rate, saying “if you do that, you’re injecting rocket fuel into the economy.” But at the minimum, Moore says, Congress needs to overhaul our nation’s tax code, calling it too broken to fix in a piecemeal fashion. Moore also offers his assessment of the 2012 election, and predicts it will be a squeaker, decided by a percent or two either way. Watch his interview with Nick Gillespie from Reason.TV.

The Sin of Envy

Why have Progressives in the Democratic Party sought to aggravate class warfare and fuel the flames of envy, the sixth of the Seven Deadly Sins? Bill Whittle ponders that question in this latest edition of Firewall and specifically addresses how envy feeds the shrill rhetoric of the Democrats in regards to our tax code. Despite the rhetoric, he notes that the upper 1 percent of wage earners pays 36 percent of all federal taxes, while nearly half of the public pays nothing.
