All War Based On Deception
Current events might seem bewildering but they become more apparent to those who have read the Chinese military strategist and philosopher Sun Tzu. His work The Art Of War, written in the 5th century BCE, covers all aspects of how to wage and win wars, but is best remembered for detailing the role played by deception in setting up a winning military campaign.
Lewis Herms looks back upon The Art of War as a means to make sense of so much happening in the ongoing information war.
