Wagging the Dog
On September 11, the anniversary of a fateful day in US history, terrorists in Libya attacked our consulate in Benghazi, killing US Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. Instead of acknowledging the true nature of the attack, Obama administration officials in unison spread a false narrative, deflecting blame to an obscure YouTube video.
Now we know terrorists — and not a filmmaker — plotted the attack, and also that the White House had ample reason beforehand to beef up security for our Libyan diplomats, but chose for its own politically expedient reasons to disregard the advance warnings. It will take months, if not years, to get to the bottom of this mess, but the Heritage Foundation delivers a useful compendium of clips that begins the process of charting this disinformation campaign. Strange, indeed, that it involved lying to the American public while extending a fig leaf of obfuscation to protect our enemies.ARVE Error: need id and provider
