Hasan Faces Death Penalty
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the case of Nidal Hasan, the Army major who killed 13 unarmed soldiers and injured 32 civilian workers in a 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood. The US military has not executed a prisoner since 1961, but Hasan’s prosecutors are building a case that it’s justified for Hasan on grounds he carried out a premeditated terrorist attack on American soil.
