Seeing Things That Aren’t There
After more than a century of observation and seven spacecrafts, people continue to see weird things on the planet Mars. Case in point was a recent photo sent our way by the Curiosity rover that appeared to show a woman standing near the edge of a Martian escarpment. Turned out to be a visual aberration, of course, but why are we seeing things that aren’t there?
