You’re probably aware that your blood can be A, B, AB or O, but it turns out that blood types can get a lot more complicated than that. Amazingly, there are potentially millions of blood types out there because of the way they are defined. “You see, blood types are defined by the antigens present in your blood,” says SciShow host Michael Aranda. “Antigens are anything that can illicit a response in your body’s self-defense system, so your immune system naturally ignores ones that belong to you.” Tune in as Aranda explains further.
