Sports stadiums receive billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, including the recent Oakland Raiders venue in Las Vegas, which pocketed $700 million, and Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, which received $750 million.  Economists who study the tax subsidies say that little or none of the money make it back to taxpayers. It turns out that 12 NFL teams have actually profited from stadium subsidies alone. So taxpayers, most of whom never attend a game, are subsidizing billionaires. Sound like a scam?
