The Statue of Liberty is perhaps the most famous monument in the world. But little known to the public, Lady Liberty has her own secrets–one of them is she might not even be a lady at all! In June 1885, Lady Liberty arrived on the shores of the United States–a gift from the people of France–in more than 300 copper pieces and was dedicated by President Grover Cleveland in October 1886.
