Celebrating Rush Limbaugh
When radio talk-show legend Rush Limbaugh announced earlier this week that he was diagnosed with advanced-stage lung cancer, it was like a swift punch in the gut to followers of the iconic conservative. Arguably the leader–and many say savior–of the Republican Party, Limbaugh has espoused conservative values with a fervor that has marked his legendary 31-year-run on the medium he pioneered. Appearing for three hours each weekday on more than 600 radio stations, Limbaugh carves his niche in Americana as one of the most influential commentators in American politics. Retired radio host Neal Boortz fittingly calls Limbaugh “the Babe Ruth of talk radio.” In Tuesday’s State of the Union address, President Trump lauded Limbaugh for his contributions and awarded him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, our country’s highest civilian honor. In the following series of videos, Call Me Stormy pays tribute to Limbaugh, beginning with the shocking announcement of his Stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis on the Excellence in Broadcasting Network.

On the August 1, 2018 episode of “Hannity” on Fox News, host Sean Hannity celebrated Limbaugh’s 30th anniversary on talk radio. “He kicked off a brand new national radio program,” Hannity says. “It gave a voice to millions of conservatives in this country that had been ignored, impugned, their values diminished for so long.”

And finally, a telling look at a young and chipper Limbaugh in 1990 when he excitedly appeared on Pat Robertson’s Christian Broadcast Network to talk politics and discuss restoring family values in America.
