Attempted Assassin Shot
Right at the start of the President’s evening news conference at 6 pm Eastern on Monday, President Donald Trump was suddenly interrupted by a member of the Secret Service who quickly ushered him out of the Press briefing room and into a more protected area of the White House complex – the Oval Office. Apparently someone – perhaps an assassin — attempted to enter the White House grounds through the north-east gate – a gate typically used by the press.
The latest report is that one uniformed Secret Service agent and an unidentified man have been rushed to the hospital. First reports were that the shooting had taken place outside the northwest gate, where all of the press enter. The press briefing room is the closest part of the White House complex to that gate.
