You might think that’s a fanciful question, but take a look at Europe, where many queens and princesses over the past couple of hundred years were, in fact, transgenders. And that’s just the first batch of subjects! In the second batch, we get Mary Lincoln and Eleanor Roosevelt, among many others. In other words, the Mooch wasn’t the first, although she remains one of the more blatant examples.
