Mayor Suffers Landslide Loss
Tiffany Henyard, the mayor of Dolton, Illinois, has lost in her re-election bid, getting whomped by trustee Jason House 3,896 votes to 536. Henyard had predicted a landslide victory and she was right — it was a landslide for House!
Under Henyard’s tenure, the community of Dolton — on the Southside of Chicago — has been besieged by allegations of absolute corruption. For instance, one of the members of her security detail was paid for 303 hours of work over a two-week period. There’s only 336 hours in two weeks, so this worker claimed he worked everyday, pretty much non-stop, except two hours for breaks and sleeping!
There are lawsuits through the roof, the town is millions in debt, and the FBI has investigated ad nauseum — all without Henyard going to jail or being stopped. That is, until the voters gave her the boot. Here’s more from Fox 32 Chicago.
