Carroll talks about the testimony of one alleged participant in these matches, Alandra Markman. Markman, who claims to be a direct descendant of King Solomon, says he fought in these cage matches as a child. These are not wrestling matches, he says, but duels to the death. Well-to-do New Yorkers attend to bet on their favorite combatants. “The children die,” Carroll says.
