Older listeners will remember The Dixie Cups’ r&b hit “Chapel of Love.” A newly married couple, Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich, wrote the song, while Phil Spector had a hand in producing the music. His interest was in The Ronettes’ version, but it was the Dixie Cups’ version that topped the Billboard charts for three weeks in 1964.
Here’s a new parody song inspired by the original. Brian Coyne did the parody and it’s called “Chapel Of Gov.”
