Denver Goes Off Deep End

Another Democratic Socialist has won a heavily contested primary, ousting incumbent Diana DeGette, a 15-term Democratic Congresswoman serving Colorado’s 1st Congressional district, based in Denver. The victor: Melat Kiros, a 29-year-old lawyer, born in Ethiopia. If Kiros wins in December, she would become the youngest Gen Z woman in Congress.

DeGette and Kiros argued mostly about foreign policy, and whether Israel — or Palestine — should be supported. Christy Peterson will be the Republican nominee, but the district is heavily Democratic, so it will be a tough race for her.

This victory moves the Democratic Socialist assault out of New York City, although once again, to heavily urban territory. It will be interesting to see how more traditional Democrats seek to block these radicals, and get their party back on a more sustainable course.

But if they can’t succeed, will we cry foul? Hell no! The Democrats can burn for all we care. Here’s more from Braden Langley, who calls Kiros “the Ethiopian AOC.”
