Many of you have already seen this video that went viral this week, capturing one of the incumbent president’s supporters from Cleveland, Ohio, bragging about her free Obama cellphone.

But you probably have not seen US Rep Tim Griffin’s video explaining how you’re paying directly — every month, like clockwork — for this government-mandated boondoogle that has grown by leaps and bounds under President Obama. Griffin is a Republican from Arkansas.

Next up, the FCC will be tacking a surcharge on your monthly satellite or cable TV bill to provide free Netflix subscriptions for every citizen. Of course, that will only happen after Netflix agrees to air the appropriate patriotic message in front of all of its programming.

Eve’s Wireless

Found by a researcher in the vaults of British Pathe, here’s a 1922 newsreel that shows the world’s first wireless telephone. The clip proves that, far from being a new phenomenon, mobile phone technology already was being tested some 90 years ago. H/T Ghost of a Flea
