Greed Cancels Anniversary

Greed has canceled the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. One of the lowlights in American history, the predominantly black Greenwood District of Tulsa was attacked by mobs of white residents, who were deputized and given weapons by city officials. Thirty-nine people were killed–26 black residents and 13 white–and more than 800 were hospitalized.

The commemoration was scheduled for Monday and the three remaining survivors of the attack were promised appearance fees of $100,000. In a stunning about-face, the survivors each demanded $1 million fees and $50 million in reparations. Needless to say, the event was canceled. Here’s more with Brodel.
