Behind Every Monster
Let’s take a look at Victor Salva, among the many pedophiles who carved out a career in Hollywood. Salva, both a writer and director, went to trial and was convicted on charges involving sexual misconduct with Nathan Forrest Winters, the underage star of Salva’s chiller Clownhouse. Salva was supposed to serve three years in prison, but got released after one year.
Francis Ford Coppola, the wunderkind behind The Godfather movies, went to bat to get Salva’s jail term shortened. Coppola subsequently produced Salva’s Jeepers Creepers horror films, while the Disney subsidiary, Buena Vista Pictures, released Salva’s mystery film Powder. Strange bedfellows, indeed!
Here, Jamie Dlux and Jay Dyer discuss the case.
