Maine Democrats Weigh Options
Maine Democrats can select a new Senate hopeful if Graham Platner leaves the race. But there are complications.
First, Platner must withdraw no later than July 13 — this coming Monday.
Platner has implied he might be willing to withdraw, but he wants assurances that whoever replaces him shares his political values.
Talk of his resignation comes after a woman charged he raped her five years ago. The New York Times had information about that allegation a month ago, but sat on it. So we won’t give you an update from the delinquent Times, but instead the New York Post.
